pics from Scotland!

So, apparently, MaryAnna was going to Scotland, to meet someone there...unknown to us,
but now I understand why she was so excited.
Today she sent us some pictures...yeah, wedding pictures.
I guess they eloped...which is...interesting.
The pictures don't even show the guy she married...as I'm sure you noticed...she mentioned something in the email about wanting us to meet him in person first...what?

Totally not how we wanted things to happen...but...

some news...

We've been so busy since Jerod got here yesterday. But anyways, alot
has been going on...this afternoon, he asked Elizabeth something...

...the pictures will tell it better than I can =)

Yes, Jerod proposed, and Elizabeth said yes! I am so excited for my sister!
They have been courting the past 5 1/2 months, but wanted it kept secret.
Well, the secret's out now!

Jerod's not really the kind of guy I expected for Lizzie...but if she loves him, that's all that matters. I'll have to get some pictures that actually show his face for those of you who don't know him...these pictures were all I got.

Of course, I wanted to take alot more, but they were heading out to Portland for the evening...and didn't want to pose for an excited sister =)

Anyways, on top of that, MaryAnna's in Scotland right now...it was totally last minute. Some really crazy things happened this month that made it possible, and it had to be secret until now. I can't go into details...no time now.
Speaking of food...I had no idea how long it took to make all the meals! My brothers eat a ton! Now that MaryAnna is away, I really appreciate all the work she did...'cause I'm having to do it myself =)

Not cool.

Today the girls and I got to spend the whole afternoon out...away from the house...shopping and such. Eight hours of just us girls...the afternoon involved alot of music, driving through pouring rain, nonstop talking, and of course, consumption of ice-cream. How could we do without it?

7 things

I was tagged! My friend Everly, from the darling blog Clickety Clack, was so kind to pass along the Stylish Blogger Award, and with it the task of sharing seven random and little known facts about myself.

I jotted down these really random facts in bed the other night, but as you can see, it took me awhile to get it posted.
What with school, the track meet, and regular craziness at our house...well, you know how it is!
Hopefully this won't bore you to tears or scare you away from my blog forever...

1.
When I was 16, I had never dyed my hair. Not even once.
Then, I dyed it six times in three years, a new color each time.
yeah, I had a hard time deciding...

2.
When I flew overseas as a twelve year old, I had never been on an airplane and thought it would be a luxurious event. I believed the main floor, with the seats all in rows, would also have a grand staircase (think Titanic) leading up to a second floor, which would have plush couches, crystal chandeliers, and everyone lounging about. I wore slip on shoes so I could walk around in my socks, and brought velvet pajamas to change into once we were in the air, because I figuredeveryone would change into comfortable clothes. right...
Let's just say I didn't find the grand staircase...and I sat in that stiff seat for the whole twelve hour flight. What kind of fake airplane was I on, anyway?

3.
I love costumes and dress up and pretending. Possibly even more than when I was little.

4.
I love moving. If the furniture in my room goes unchanged for three months
or we stay in a house for more than two years, I get the moving fever...
maybe because we moved eight times before I turned 15

5.
I have always wanted to have a broken arm...or even better, a broken leg. I just thought it would be so exciting, like in the movies...but, alas! I've never been to the hospital. In my life. Now that I'm so mature, I don't mind. As much.

6.
I wish I was really short and had silky hair. Instead, I am...tall-ish, and my hair is quite puffy, giving me the silhouette of a dandelion gone to seed. How lovely.

7.
I hate sad movies, but I have never cried while watching one. Some girls I am
biologically close to cry if the movie is even slightly sad. I think it's hilarious...
Just a warning though...if you cry at the end of Toy Story 3 or My Sister's Keeper, I will laugh. At you.

And now I get to pass the award along to these stylish bloggers:

courage

Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear.

first track meet

Josh ran three races...the long distance races...(800m, 1600m, & 3200m)
I only got pictures of his last one...

Josh won all of his races. All three of his races. By a long shot.

Surprise, surprise...I think I need to find out what supplements he's using...(ha ha)

Dad was there the whole meet. Except for when he came back to the starting line between races (for pre-race pep talks), he stayed at the back stretch, pacing, watching, encouraging, and yelling times as we passed.
It was raining, the wind was strong, and he was the only parent I saw out there.
I know we're lucky.

Someone needs to invent time-travel...and prevent henna dye from being discovered.

It would save me a chunk of money, and many hilarious failures...

frozen coconut milk...cool texture, but I have no idea how it tastes =)

We had waffles for dinner tonight...in Johnny's own words,
"This is going to be the best dinner ever!"

And it was.
